In 2003 my husband and I took a risk and moved to Abu Dhabi for work. That magical place is where my traveler’s soul took flight and my photography career was born. With so many incredible places now at our doorstep, we set off to see the world!

It is there that I bought my first entry-level digital camera - a Canon Rebel 300D. That camera has seen it all, Thailand, France, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Lebanon.... So many precious, memorable moments were documented with my little Rebel.

But, one particular trip I took alone with my Rebel transformed me forever. In 2006 I traveled to Pakistan to shoot my first wedding. The experience of documenting such an event left me utterly transformed. To this day, when I close my eyes, I can still see the vibrant colours, smell the exotic spices, and hear the women giggling as they had henna painted delicately on their bodies. It was an amazing day and I just knew that I had found my calling. It was here that my career as a wedding photographer was born.

From that day forward, I took pictures every day and studied everything I could get my hands on to hone my skills. When we moved back to Canada, I studied at Focal Point in Vancouver focusing on wedding photography.

Today, the old Canon sits idle on the shelf; a resting friend. Not far from it, proudly hanging on the wall of our Salt Spring home, is an image taken with my little Rebel that won my first photo contest.

Photography has been a gift in my life and I hope to share that gift with you. My couple's interests, backgrounds and lifestyles are vastly different, but the value they place in photography is shared. During all of our biggest moments, we turn to photographs for comfort, memories, and to tell the story of a life well lived. I would be honoured to have the opportunity to help tell the story of your lives together!
